IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ada Mae
Wilson
October 21, 1935 – July 13, 2024
Ada Mae (Jeffrey) Wilson was born in a tent outside of Superior, Arizona on October 21st 1935 to her parents Homer Clifford and Sarah Cecelia Jeffrey. She was so tiny her first cradle was a shoebox on the back of the wood stove; Barbara Olney came a few years later, making Ada an older sister.
She spent her early years surrounded by family; spending many hours climbing hills and riding horses through her beloved desert. She slept under the open night sky as often as she was allowed.
After graduating high school she married Harry Wilson, they shared almost 60 happy years together. They were the proud parents of daughters Carol and Cynthia. Ada took great joy in raising her daughters and was very proud of the women they became. Adaloved her sons-in-law Lonnie Brown and Terry Azbill. She cherished all of her posterity including grand children: Robert, Clinton, Aaron, Matthew, Alisa, Clayton, and Brittney; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She moved with her family from the hot desert to the cold mountains of Flagstaff where she babysat and raised siamese kittens. After 7 years Harry was transferred to Phoenix and the family moved with him. She began her banking career here and spent over 20 years working with numbers, which went against her high school counselor's career recommendations.
Later in life Ada joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints and served diligently in Relief Society and other callings for the rest of her life. Harry Wilson supported her in her callings, even when he was "voluntold" to help.
Ada left a legacy of kindness, patience, and love of animals. She was a warm and gentle soul who saw the best in those around her. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 13, 2024 and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you give a box of See's candy to someone you love in her honor (that person can be yourself).
