Obituary

Alice "Dottie" Roholt Lewis, 81, of Grace, ID passed from this earthly world on December 10, 2014 at home with her loving family adn her devoted hospice nurse by her side.

Dottie was born March 28, 1933 in Ocean City, New Jersey to Charles Ewing Sr. and Alice Nickerson Ewing.

Dottie attended school in Ocean City and graduated from Ocean City High School in 1952. After graduating high school, Dottie enlisted in the United States Air Force. Dottie met and married Gene Roholt in 1952 and from this union her two boys, Joe Carol Roholt and James Karl Roholt were born. Dottie and Gene lived a military life, living in such places as Okinawa, Japan and California. After Genes service in the military, they made their home in Grace, ID. They were later divorced.

In 1973 Dottie met the love of her life, Lavell Lewis. From this union, their daughter Angie Roholt Bower was born in 1976. Dottie and Lavell made their home in Grace, ID and were legally married in Elko, NV on June 4, 1990.

Dottie was employed by the Department of Agriculture as the head seed potato inspector in the Grace area for many years. She also worked many hours tending bar at the Grace Lounge. Dottie loved to cook, bake and can her own treasured fruits and vegetables from her garden. She loved to play pool and darts and go camping with Lavell. Shopping was always a family outing for Dottie, Angie, Annalyse and Morgan. She also loved playing Bunko and Pinochle.

Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Lavell Lewis. She is also survived by her two sons, Joe Roholt, Jim (Diane) Roholt both of Grace, ID, and daughter Angie Roholt Bower also of Grace, ID. A brother, Albert Ewing, a step-daughter, Sue Ann Turner of Soda Springs, ID and Step-daughter-in-law, Anna Lewis of Pocatello, ID. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Ewing, a step-son, Lynn Lewis and a step-granddaughter, Danielle Simpson Roholt.

Services for Dottie are being held Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Tues. morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Interment will be in the Grace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to help with funeral expenses.
