Ann H. Spencer, 75; of Grace passed away at her home Sunday, December 26, 2010.
Ann was born August 23, 1935 in Preston, Idaho the daughter of Ezra Samuel and Darlesky Margaret "Dora" Thatcher Hollingsworth.
She was raised in Preston and moved to Thatcher, Idaho in 1947 where she lived and graduated from Grace High School. Ann married Harold "Hap" Franklin Spencer on December 22, 1953 in Grace, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 27, 1965. Hap passed away February 2, 1997. She did live in Elko, Nevada for five years where she was a bus driver for Barrick Gold Strike, she also drove bus for the Grace School District for 30 plus years.
Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had served in various callings including Relief Society Teacher, Cub Scouts, Young women Leader, and girls camp director.
She received the Scouting Silver Beaver Award and had also been a Grace EMT and a Volunteer in the Grace Fire Department. She was also a member of the D.U.P.
Ann enjoyed horses, farming, quilting, hunting and all outdoor activities.
She is survived by three sons, Leon and Maxine Spencer of Battle Mountain, NV; Kim and Cindy Spencer of Grace, ID; Cody and Marla Spencer of Fairbanks, Alaska; and one daughter Jackie Barthlome of Grace, ID; and a daughter-in-law Leslie and Gary Etchison of Grace, ID. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren and one brother-in-law Jim and Diann Spencer of Grace, ID; and two sisters-in-law Shirley and Richard Williams; Jean Hollingsworth of Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by her husband "Hap" and two brothers Bill and Hal, and a sister Colleen, and parents, three sons Tony, Gary and an infant son, and a son-in-law Don Barthlome and grandson Josh Barthlome.
Services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grace Stake Center and on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
The family suggests donations be made to the Grace EMT or Grace Fire Dept. or a charity of your choice.
