Anna (Anne) Marie Peirano Peck, age 96 passed away on December 5, 2017 in Soda Springs, Idaho at the home of Alice and Val Gibson. She was born November 8, 1921 in Hackensack, New Jersey. She was the youngest of 8 girls born to Joseph and Harriet (Boyce) Peirano. Her father died when she was 14 months old.
She graduated from East Rutherford High School and worked for U. S. Rubber Co. making fire hose for the U. S. Navy. She left that job after 6 months and went to Defense School, sponsored by the U. S. Government, since the United States was now at war. Schooling consisted of learning to operate light machinery - drill press, milling machine, lathe, etc. Placing highest in the class, Anne was given first choice of jobs offered at the Defense Plants. She chose Allen B. DuMont Labs (Pioneer of the TV Industry, but converted to wartime contracts) working on the assembly line, wiring components to the front panels of oscilloscopes (part of radar equipment).
She married John Bosshardt and they had one son, John Jr. They later divorced and Anne and John Jr. moved to California. She renewed her secretarial skills at Secretarial School and started working for Los Angeles County Engineers as a stenographer, rising to the position of Executive Secretary at retirement in 1978.
On June 6, 1959 Anne married Patrick Kibbie. They had one son, Jeffrey, who died at birth. Anne and Pat lived in Whittier, California until 1986 when they bought a home in Soda Springs, Idaho. Why Soda Springs? Pat was an army buddy of Val Steele. After many years, Pat contacted Val and the Kibbies came to the area to visit Val and Myrle. After a brief vacation, they fell in love with the area and returned annually where the couples camped at Diamond Creek.
Pat became a victim of Alzheimer's Disease and Anne decided to leave California. By this time, the Steeles were like family to the Kibbies. Pat died in Soda Springs on January 9, 1990.
Anne loved to travel and went on numerous trips with Senior Center friends and many trips with Myrle Steele for the American Legion Auxiliary. Anne was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was active at the Soda Springs Senior Center in earlier years and was a volunteer with the Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies).
Anne became friends of Lyle and Alta Peck who were also active at the Senior Center. After Alta's death, Lyle and Anne were married in Grace, Idaho on August 17, 1994.
Anne and Lyle enjoyed 22 years of happiness together. They took many wonderful trips and cruises and enjoyed their life together in Soda Springs, Idaho. In September 2014 they moved to the Marian Estates Senior Living in Sublimity, Oregon to be closer to Anne's son John Jr. Lyle passed away in Sublimity on October 28, 2016. In January 2017, Anne moved to Markham House Assisted Living in Portland, Oregon then in September 2017 she returned to Soda Springs, Idaho to live with Alice and Val Gibson.
Anne loved life and all types of crafts, making dolls. keeping busy, traveling, cooking, meeting people. Anne was an artist, making many beautiful paintings, painted on canvas, the back shed in Diamond Creek, paintings deer on rocks and the most cherished are the long hand saws she painted on. She loved to cook. The Steele family looked forward to her spaghetti dinners and her homemade lasagna and candies.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, 7 sisters, an infant son, husbands John Bosshardt, Patrick Kibbie and Lyle Peck. She is survived by one son John Bosshardt Jr. (Diana) of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Sims Funeral Home. Family will visit with friends Thursday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Soda Springs, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Caribou Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary.
