Bennie Chatterton Comish, 90, of Grace, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at home.
He was born Jan 28, 1922 in Grace, the son of Robert Carlos and Violet Mae Chatterton Comish.
He married Barbara Freeman, June 15, 1944 at Paris, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Barbara passed away June 15, 1989.
Bennie married LaDean Roholt Garner April 25, 1990 at Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. LaDean passed away July 14, 2009.
He was a lifelong resident of Grace where he farmed. He did spend the winter of 1956-57 in California with his parents.
Bennie graduated from Grace High school. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as Ward Teacher and Scout Master for several years.
He was a farmer, after he retired he spent several winters in Yuma, Arizona. He had been a member of the Farm Bureau, he worked for ASCS for many years; worked for El Paso natural Gas for several years putting in the original gas line; he worked at Kerr McGee for 5 years.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping.
He served in the U S Army during WWII receiving an honorable discharge in 1943.
Bennie is survived by 1 son and 5 daughters; Richard and Fran Comish, Grace, Idaho; RaNae and Sam Caldwell, Honeyville, Utah; Sharon and Van Fowler, Brigham City, Utah; LouAnn and Michael Gibson of Grace; Kathy Tillotson; of Grace, Leslie and Jay Simons, Kemmerer, Wyoming; also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lester; 2 sisters, Libby Maughan and Nola Christensen and grandsons Andy Bragg and Lucas Tillotson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday March 6th at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Family will meet friends at the Stake Center on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
