Bertha Avonne Ingram, 97; of Grace passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs.
She was born July 28, 1912 in Cisco, Texas the daughter of John Martin and Dollie Irmatrude Callarman Fleming. She was the third child in a family of four girls and three boys. Her parents moved from Texas to the Imperial Valley in southern California when she was six years old and spent the next 73 years living in various areas of southern California.
Bertha became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1940 and spent the rest of her life as an active and involved member.
She married William Franklin Ingram on June 12, 1954 in San Diego, California. He passed away August 14, 1991. After her husband's passing she lived with her son for one year and then lived with her grand daughter Laura Schenk for the last 17 years of her life.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and growing roses. She was very involved in the humanitarian aid effort and loved to quilt and make crocheted baby hats. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed visiting with them. Since her move to the Gem Valley five years ago she has made many friends and touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by a sister Alene Zakarian and 4 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her only child Denny Milton Fitch.
Services were held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in San Diego, California.
