Betty Ozburn Gorton, 85; of Soda Springs Passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.
Betty was born January 21, 1926 in Soda Springs, Idaho the daughter of Aaron L. and Hazel Hawkes Ozburn. She had two brothers L.J. and Harry Dean.
She grew up on the family farm north of Soda Springs. She graduated from Soda Springs High School, then went to college at the University of Moscow for one year. She finished her college at the Colorado Woman's College.
Betty married Eastman Kenneth Gorton, JR. on September 12, 1946 in Soda Springs. He passed away July 26, 1981. After they were married they lived in Soda Springs and then in 1954 they moved to Fresno, California where she lived for 37 years. In 1991 when she retired she moved back to Soda Springs and lived in the farm house she grew up in.
She loved her husband and family very much. She loved to cook for her family. She also loved to play and watch golf. She also enjoyed working in the yard and just being in the outdoors. she also liked to play cards with her friends and entertain guests in her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her two brothers, Harry D. Ozburn and Leslie J. Ozburn.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Caribou Memorial Living Center.
