Obituary

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Betty Lou Palmer Nielsen passed away on June 8, 2017 at the age of 87. Betty was born on January 31, 1930 in Moreland, Idaho to Glen and Cora Palmer. Betty Spent most of her childhood and youth in Grace, Idaho graduating from Grace High School in 1948. She married Albert Keith Nielsen on April 11, 1949 in the Logan Temple. Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served faithfully in various auxiliary positions. She also served in the Logan Temple with her husband Keith for seven years as Temple Workers. Betty and Keith always supported the local sports teams. She also enjoyed watching BYU Football and Basketball and the Utah Jazz. The family appreciated the love and devotion she showed her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Peggy (James) Palmer of Centerville, Utah and three sons, Steven Keith (Lynnette) Nielsen of Pocatello, Idaho, Bruce Charles (Josie) Nielsen of Kaysville, Utah, and Bryan P. (Heather) Nielsen of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Keith of 68 years on May 3, 2017, one son DeWayne who died at birth, her parents, one brother Eldon Palmer and two sisters, Evelyn Horne and Verlene Adams. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center. Family will visit with friends Tuesday 6-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home and Wednesday 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living Center for their loving care of our parents the past few months and for the care of mother received from Hospice the past few weeks.
