Betty J. Roper, 79; of Grace passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Preston at the Heritage Home.

Betty was born on March 26, 1930 in Thatcher, Idaho the daughter of Frank W. and Grace Olsen Johnson.

She was raised in Grace and graduated from Grace High.
Betty married Leo B. Roper on June 10, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple, in Logan, Utah. Leo passed away April 12, 2005.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had served as a visiting teacher and as Sunday School Secretary for 30 years.

She was janitor for the Grace Junior High for 16 years.

Betty enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and also fixing them meals.

She is survived by one son and one daughter, Russell and Debbie Roper of Logan, Utah and Pauline and Keith Rigby of Grace, Idaho. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Scott, RaeAnn, Wade, Jake, Adam and Matt; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jenessa, Garrett, Ainsley, Brooklyn, Hallie, Lindsay and Kayla; and two brothers and three sisters, Lee Johnson, Val Johnson, Shirley Lloyd, Kayleen Higgins and Mary Lester; and two sisters-in-law, Leone Roper and Colleen Roper. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo and three children, Gregory, Mark and Janet.

Services were held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Noon at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel in Niter. Burial was in the Grace Cemetery.
