IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bill
Wallin
April 23, 1936 – November 10, 2021
Ralph William (Bill) Wallin, Jr., a gentle giant of a man quietly slipped away, surrounded by the love of family, Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He left just in time for morning chores just as he had done his whole life.
Bill was born in Murray, Utah, on April 23, 1936, to Ralph and Marie Wallin. He married Diane Callister on September 29, 1958, in the Salt Lake Temple. He blessed our lives with his love, example, work ethic and sense of humor.
Bill's life was full of service within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his community. He was a faithful home teacher, Young Men's President and Sunday School President. He served his community as Summit County Commissioner, PTA President and a member of the Kiwanis. He was devoted and diligent in his service, and he blessed many lives.
He loved working the land as a farmer and rancher in Murray, Park City, and Genola, Utah; and in Grace, Idaho, but farming was only Bill's "day" job. At night, Bill managed real estate properties he purchased through enterprise and ingenuity in Heber, Salt Lake, and Provo, Utah. The family farms and rental properties became the backdrop against which Bill and Diane taught their family the importance of work.
Though Bill worked hard, he also played hard, engaging his family in a variety of recreational activities which included boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, weiner roasts, and regular family vacations. He imbued his family with a love of life and a wicked sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his wife, Diane; his four children, Vicki Carter, Jeaneen Penrod, Wade (Treesje) Wallin, Laef (Melissa) Wallin: 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Bob (Joanette-deceased), Bruce (Terry); his sister Cathy (Milt) Burbidge and their families.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Cemetery.
