Obituary

Blaine William Priestley, 73 of Bancroft passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs.

Blaine was born February 8, 1936 in Weston, Idaho the son of Heber Chase "Roy" and Ida Florence Davis Priestley.

He graduated from Preston High School.

Blaine married Ruth Barfuss on May 19, 1958 in Logan, Utah in the Logan LDS Temple.

He has lived in Logan, Franklin, Preston, Grace and made Bancroft his home.

Blaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints and has served in various callings including an East Central States Mission, High Priest Assistant Group Leader, Bishopric, Sunday School, Boy Scouts and he was a faithful Home Teacher.

He served on the Bancroft School Board for 21 years and was on the Bancroft Rodeo Committee (parade Chairman for 40 plus years). He served with Ruth as 2008 July 24th Grand Marshall.

He was a friend to all and the only stranger was the one he hadn't talked to .

He was a supporter of the school, church and community activities.

A favorite hobby was woodworking and building all his Granddaughters cedar chests. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, John Deere equipment and most of all Family, Family and Family.

Blaine is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter, Rodney and Teena Priestley of Hyde Parke, UT; Mark and Linda Priestley of Bancroft, ID; Radell and Mark Trout of Syracuse, UT. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and 4 brothers and one sister; Leon and Marilyn Priestley ; Marvin and Judy Priestley Preston, ID; and Wayne and Peggy Priestley and Frank and Susan Priestley of Franklin, ID; and Beth and Bob Mendenhall of Grace, ID.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Garrett Trout.

Services were held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Bancroft Cemetery.
