Obituary

Bonnie Gay Bevins Bailey passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012, peacefully at home. She was born June 27, 1950, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Delbert Ithimer and Ula Walton Bevins. Her best friend and twin brother Ronnie Bevins was also brought into the world that day. Bonnie was raised and educated in Soda Springs, Idaho and graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1968. She was working at the Arctic Circle after graduation where she met Daniel Richard Bailey who quickly stole her heart. There were married on August 23, 1969, in Soda Springs, Idaho, where they made their home and brought three children into their lives, Travis, Stephanie, and Jared (J.D.). Bonnie worked as a guard at Monsanto for several years, and then took a position with the Soda Springs School District. She had a special love for children and touched many lives in her 22 years working as a bus driver and in the hot lunch program. In 1999 Dan and Bonnie formed Dan Bailey Trucking. The business was started with just one semi and has grown into a thriving business with a fleet of 17 semis and 20 employees. She was an avid bowler and won many bowling awards over the years. She enjoyed working in her yard, decorating her home, shopping, and Christmas. She is well known in the community for her display of Christmas lights and holiday spirit. Her greatest love was her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are children Travis Bailey of Hyrum, Utah; Stephanie Duggan of Broomfield, Colorado; and J.D (Brooke) Bailey of Ogden, Utah. Brothers and sisters are Nancy Dunfee (Gary ) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Linda Stoor (Ralph) of Wayan, Idaho; and Scott Bevins and Ronnie (Bonnie) Bevins all of Soda Springs. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, a soon- to be great-grand daughter and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bailey; her mother and father, Delbert & Ula Bevins; a brother, Daris Bevins; a sister-in-law, Shauna Bevins; a brother-in-law, Henry Bailey, and a nephew, Michael Dye. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home and will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012, at noon at the Soda Springs Bailey Creek LDS Chapel (361 South Third East). The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Sims Funeral Home, and on Monday morning from 10-11:30 am at the church prior to the services. Listen to service:
