Our dear sweet and loving mother and grandmother, Boneta (Bonnie) Leavitt Skinner, of Soda Springs, passed away at the age of 94 on Dec.4, 2019.
She was born Oct.2, 1925 in Auburn, Wy., the daughter of John D. Leavitt and Bertha Mae Wood Leavitt. She was raised and educated in Auburn, Wy and Soda Springs, Id. She lived eight years in Conda, then the remainder of her life she lived in Soda Springs.
She married Loren J. Skinner on Aug,1,1941 in Soda Springs. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City, Ut temple.
Bonnie worked as a waitress for many years, she made good tips because of her sweet personality and her ability to remember all of the orders by memory. She loved bowling and was on a league for many years. She was very proud of all the trophies she won.
Bonnie had a very strong testimony of the Gospel and served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Later in life she loved going to the temple with her good friends that she loved.
Bonnie is survived by one son Marvin J. Skinner (Judy K.), Morgan, Ut. and three daughters; Deanna Kay Hawker, Pocatello, Id, Wendy Lynn Weaver (Larry) Soda Springs, Id and Karen B Hopson (Scott), Pocatello, ID
She was preceded in death by her parents John D. and Bertha Mae Leavitt, husband Loren J. Skinner, a son Jerry L. Skinner, a sister Verna Davis, a brother Ellis Leavitt, a great-granddaughter and a great - grandson.
Our love and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and the CNA's and caregivers who took such wonderful and loving care of our mother at Caribou Living Center and Edgewood Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Dec.10, 2019 at Noon at the Soda Springs Stake Center. Viewing will be prior from 10:30-11:30 at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
