Obituary

Byron Eaton Seely, 83; of Soda Springs passed away January 17, 2009 in Pocatello.

Byron was born November 9, 1925 at Missoula, Montana the son of David Clinton and Louise Juanita Rice Seely.

His family later moved to Oklahoma where he later joined the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. After being discharged he lived in North Dakota, Montana, Lancaster California and Kennewick Washington and Soda Springs, Idaho.

Byron married Sylvia Alice Blake in December of 1950 in Fallon, Montana. They were later divorced.

He married Marjorie M. Ayers on November 11, 1972 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He was a heavy equipment operator in construction and mining.

Byron was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 370.
He also enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking, welding and animals.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie and five sons and four daughters; Jerry Beus of Soda Springs, ID; Dallas Beus of Mt. Home, ID; Doug Beus of Evanston, Wy; Kelly Seely of Kennewick, WA; Karl Seely of Touchet, WA; Teresa Martin of Benton City, WA; Karen Brewer of Spokane, WA; Becky Collins of Beaverton, OR and Meryl Seely of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and two brothers Dr. Howard Seely of Walla Walla, WA and Neal Seely of Milton-Freewater, OR.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Marcia Manda and three sisters Lois Smith, Patsy Smith and Donna Hall and great-grandson Jordan Davis.

Services were held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Sims Funeral Home at 1 p.m.
Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs with military graveside services.
Family suggests donations be made to the local animal shelter.
