With broken hearts, we share the passing of Caden Richard Langedyke, who left this world on March 28, 2026, at the age of 30. Caden was deeply loved and will be remembered for the joy, love, and laughter he brought into our lives.
He was born smack dab in the middle of hunting season on September 11, 1995, to Steve and LeAnn Langedyke. His arrival into this world came with intensity and urgency, but even then, he showed the strength that would define his life. He was a fighter from the very beginning. He was welcomed by his big sister, Sara, who was anxiously waiting to hold him and show him the ropes.
From a young age, Caden participated in Little League baseball and Boy Scouts, beginning a life filled with adventure, mischief, teamwork, and the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, and spending time outside—especially camping up Millcreek Canyon with his family. Caden also loved to play with fire, both literally and figuratively.
Caden was charismatic and funny, always quick with a joke. He was also deeply empathetic and would do anything for anyone to help lighten their load. After graduating from high school, he set out for Oregon to find his own path. He spent 10 years there navigating life—attending music festivals, hiking, and gardening. Though there were stumbles and hardships along the way, he found his way back home to Idaho, to be with his family and help take care of our dad, before his passing.
During his time back home, Caden found himself and began to see his worth. He built a strong relationship and bond with his family. He discovered a passion for food and cooking, developed a love for golf, and enjoyed hitting the slopes. He cherished time spent with his niece and nephews, helped lighten the load for his parents, and filled the house with music and happiness.
After his dad passed away, Caden moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida, where his father was born, determined to make his mark—and he did just that. He found work in the hospitality business on Saint Pete Beach and also found the love of his life, Michelle Barker. Together, they worked hard to build a life they could be proud of. Caden and Michelle’s laughter and love brightened any room they walked into.
On Sunday mornings, he would call his mom to talk about their week and what life was all about. When schedules aligned, he would FaceTime Colt, Pacen, Kallaway, and Miles—to play Fortnite together or listen to any story or joke they had to tell. Being their Uncle was one of his favorite titles.
Caden was such a bright light. Everyone he came in contact with left better because they had met him. He was the definition of a free spirit. He was passionate about so many things. He had a tribe who loved him wholeheartedly. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, and carried a tender heart.
He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Langedyke and grandparents.
He is survived by Michelle Barker; his mother, LeAnn (Forrest) Langedyke-Humphreys; his sister, Sara (Steven) Christensen; Colt, Pacen, Kallaway, and Miles Rasmussen; Brad (Bridget) Humphreys; and Aspen Humphreys.
Caden will be deeply missed beyond words and forever carried in our hearts. In honoring his life, we are reminded of how important mental health truly is, and we encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out, speak up, and know they are never alone. Remember you are loved.
