IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carla Mae
Wilson Thompson
May 8, 1933 – June 9, 2022
On June 9, 2022, our beloved Carla Mae Wilson Thompson left this life to be reunited with her eternal sweetheart Dean.
Carla Mae, the second child of Alexander and Cora Christensen Wilson, was born in Central, Idaho, on May 8, 1933. She was welcomed by her brother Loren. Sadly, her father, Alexander, passed away when she was only three months old. Her mother later married Guy Harris and moved to his ranch in Lago, Idaho, where she happily grew up. She attended 5 years of grade school in Lago and then 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the Thatcher Elementary School. She went on to graduate from Grace High School and then attended one year at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was then employed at the Largilliere Bank in Soda Springs.
Carla Mae married her high school sweetheart, Dean Thompson, on November 10, 1953, in the Logan Temple. They lived south of Grace on Dean's family farm for the next thirty years, where they raised their family of three sons and three daughters. When their youngest child was in high school, they moved to Missoula, Montana, for employment. For the next fifteen years, they lived in Montana, Arizona, and Nevada making new friendships wherever they settled. Mom was a very good friend, maintaining friendships going back to her high school years. When Dean retired, they happily settled back in Grace, Idaho. Dean passed away on November 12, 2009.
Carla Mae is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has faithfully served in several callings. She and Dean served nearly nine years as officiators in the Logan Temple, which was one of the highlights of their lives. Mom later opened her home for two years to the sister missionaries and loved every minute of the spirit they brought into her life.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, cooking, painting with watercolors, and playing the piano. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. She loved each one of them dearly. She served with the "Pink Ladies" for several years and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also enjoyed playing golf for many years and was an avid JAZZ fan. Carla Mae was sweet, kind-hearted, and simply living proof that angels live among us.
Carla Mae will be truly missed by their six children, Don (Dawn Ann) Thompson of Reno, Nevada, Radean (Lynn) White and RaNae Bennett of Grace, Dahl (Krista) Thompson of Cypress, Texas, Darin (Rebecca) Thompson of Austin, Texas and Hettie (Steven) Pacinni of Issaquah, Washington. Dean and Carla Mae have 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother Robert Harris of Lago and two sisters-in-law, Georgia Wilson and Janet Harris of Soda Springs. She was preceded by her dear husband Dean, her parents Alexander and Cora, stepfather
Guy Harris, brothers Loren Wilson and McGee Harris, a step-brother Vard Harris, and two stepsisters Marjorie Panter and Mardene Andreasen.
A sincere thank you to Symbi Hospice Care and to the Heritage Living Center and their residents for the loving care and friendship they showed our dear Mother.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Family will visit with friends Tuesday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
