Carol Gennett Ellis Welling, 79, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 6, 2014. Carol was born December 2, 1934 in Grace, Idaho, the oldest daughter of Ira B. and Lillie Simonson Ellis. She was raised on a ranch east of Soda Springs, graduated from Soda Springs High School and went to Henager Business School in Salt Lake City, Utah. While there she met the love of her life Ray Neal Welling and they were married May 28, 1954. Carol was blessed with three sons and thrived on the activities of raising the boys and watching their families grow. She was a Master Gardener, enjoyed decorating, painting, horseback riding and planning fun activities for the family. She was active in the LDS church, received a BA in Anthropology from BSU at the age of 60, and always enjoyed in learning new things. Carol is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Larry Ray and Debra Welling of Farmington, NM, Lynn Ellis and Patricia Welling of St. Louis, MO, and Dean Ellis and Frances Welling of Pocatello, ID. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a sister VaNeal Burgess. Services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs (139 East 2nd South). The family will visit with friends on Monday morning from 11-11:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Listen to service:
