Cecile Robinson McCurdy, 96, of Grace, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2009 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.
She was born September 27, 1912 at Wallsburg, Utah the daughter of Joseph and Emma Naomi Mecham Robinson.
She married Milton John McCurdy, September 17, 1938 at Iona, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 17, 1965. Mr. McCurdy passed away November 26, 1995.
Cecile was raised and educated in Basalt. Her mother died when she was 15 and her dad died 5 years later. After she married Milton they moved to different places while he worked for the railroad. (Firth, Ashton, Spencer, Groveland, Monida, Hamer, Camas, Dubois and Idaho Falls) After retirement they lived in Idaho Falls. She moved to Grace a few years ago to live with her son Berdell.
Cecile was a member of the Grace LDS 1st Ward. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, dogs, fishing, music and dancing. She also enjoyed her Temple attendance.
She is survived by her son Berdell and Juanita McCurdy of Grace, 10 Grandchildren and 29 Great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son Lee; a daughter Carol; 3 sisters; LaVada, Naomia Rhoda; and 2 brothers, Ellis and Fred and a grandson.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 12, at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Basalt Cemetery.
