Chad Blankenbaker was born on August 10, 1980 in Denver, Colorado. He passed away October 17, 2020 in Henry, Idaho.

He spent his early childhood in Nebraska where he was very involved in all kinds of sports. He caught the eye of Augie Nelson, who was a prominent active mentor and sponsor for youth in the community. Augie could see the potential and had visions of Chad playing for the Huskers someday.

Chad moved to Soda Springs, Idaho in 1993, when he was 13. He continued to play in sports, with football and basketball being his favorites. He had a tremendous amount of knowledge about sports that was truly amazing. He was a big fan of the Raiders and Nebraska football.

He also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing video games and spending time with his friends and family. Chad was a very caring and loving individual who would help out anyone who needed it. He loved his children Trey, Taylor and Tripp immensely.

He is survived by his children and his mother Joanne & Dale Ray Dursteler; siblings Mike & LeeAnn Perkins; Ronette & Jay Kofoed; Aimee & Chris Mendenhal and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Due to the current COVID situation a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
