Charles Minnig, 52; of Pocatello, formerly of Soda Springs passed away at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Charles was born June 28, 1957 in Ogden, Utah the son of Edward Eugene and Daphne Jean Foster Minnig.
He was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah graduating from Weber High and then received a Bachelors Degree in Drafting and Design at ISU in Pocatello, Idaho.
He married Cherie Elven Gregory on May 22, 1976 in Clinton, Utah and they were later divorced.
He married Sheri Lyn Nelson on June 11, 1987 in Soda Springs, ID and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on June 17, 1988.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints and had served as a Stake Missionary.
Charles was a diesel mechanic, truck driver and draftsman and designer.
He enjoyed fishing, panning for gold, hunting and genealogy.
He is survived by his wife Sheri and three sons and three daughters, Charles and Jessie Minnig of Seattle, WA; Daniel and Brandie Minnig of Bountiful, UT; Nathan Christensen of Boise, ID; Elizabeth and Jesse Burk of Billing, MT; Gina and Ryan Marley of Pocatello, ID; Annselena and Jose Frias of Pocatello, ID.
Also survived by 16 grandchildren and two brothers Edward Minnig of Salt Lake City, UT. and Duane Minnig of Ogden, UT. and one sister Betty Shupe of Iowa. He was preceded in death by a sister Cathy Southwick and a brother Stephen Minnig.
Services were held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center in Soda Springs. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
