Clara s. Gibson, 88; of Grace, Idaho passed away April 9, 2011 in Soda Springs, Idaho at the Caribou Memorial Living Center.
Clara was born November 17, 1922 in Thatcher, Idaho, the youngest of four girls to Albert and Margaret Swenson Steinbeck.
She attended 1st through 12th grade in Thatcher, Idaho where she also graduated.
Clara married Keith Roper July 23, 1941 in Pocatello, ID. Their first boy, Brent was born March 19, 1943. September 1946, Keith and Clara were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Keith passed away June 5th, 1948 at the Utah Power Plant in Grace, ID.
On October 26, 1950 she married Budrow Gibson. On February 28, 1954 their son Val was born. Budrow passed away April 15, 1998.
Clara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in Young Womens, Relief Society, Sunday School and Boy Scouts. She worked at the Grace Library, City Office, Chadwicks and at the Caribou County Fair.
Clara is survived by her children, Brent (Linda) Roper of Amarillo, Texas; Val (Alice) Gibson of Soda Springs, Idaho. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 26 great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, parents, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center in Grace. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the compassionate staff at the Caribou Memorial Living Center.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Grace Public Library.
