Cleve Morgan, 80; of Soda Springs passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.
Cleve was born on April 28, 1931 in Malad, Idaho the son of Edmond and Catherine Lewis Morgan. He was one of twelve children and spent his early years of life working on the family ranch in Deep Creek, Idaho.
He graduated from Malad High School in 1949, where he lettered in football, baseball and boxing. He went on to study at SICE in Albion, Idaho and upon its closure enrolled at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served till 1954. Following his discharge he attended Ricks College where he continued his athletic pursuits.
Cleve married JoAnn Mushlitz on June 14, 1952. They had two children, a daughter, JoEllen and a son, Kirk. JoAnn passed away in 1988 following an illness.
He later married Kay Tovey in the Logan LDS Temple.
Cleve received his degree in education and spent his life time teaching both history and coaching football and wrestling. He taught in Lava Hot Springs, Marsh Valley, Snow College and Soda Springs. While teaching, he went on to earn his Masters in education from Idaho State University. He retired in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, his son and ten siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; his daughter, JoEllen and Thayne Gentry of Soda Springs, ID. Also surviving is a sister Catherine, a brother Glenn and four step-children and their families.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Soda Spring Stake Center and also on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to Services.
Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
