Dakota Brook Peterson, 25, of Ammon, Idaho passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018 with his family by his side.

Dakota was born on March 9, 1993 in Soda Springs, Idaho the son of Steven Reid and Cherie Renee Vernon Peterson.

Dakota lived in Soda Springs for 17 years. He moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he has lived for the past 7 ½ years and graduated from Bonneville High School.

He loved going to church on Sundays and was in a program called Snap with the Church. He was baptized in the Presbyterian Church.

Dakota also had been active in the Special Olympics where he competed in track and field. He loved picking Huckleberries (more like eating them), he also enjoyed following the radio stations in Idaho Falls at their Pepsi Stops. He loved going to Chukars baseball games. He loved being active and being in the outdoors and horses and his time in horse therapy.

He is survived by his parents Steven and Cherie Peterson of Soda Springs, ID, a brother Shawn Reid Peterson and Grandmother, Glenna Dean Vernon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reid and Betty Peterson and Ted Harold Vernon.

Services will be held on Friday, August 31 at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs.
Family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home and on Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
