Obituary

Darrell Joseph Godfrey passed away peacefully early on the morning of Monday, February 8th, 2010 from the effects of Lewy body dementia.

He was born in Clarkston, Utah on February 21, 1929 to W. Murland & Cora P. Godfrey.

Darrell grew up in Clarkston, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School. After school he farmed and hauled grain until he went into the army to serve his country in the Korean War. He came home and continued to farm and truck throughout his life. He enjoyed his life growing up in Clarkston. He and his friends were famous pranksters and enjoyed their youth. Darrell always enjoyed long drives and visiting with friends and relatives. He was a wonderful story teller, had an infectious smile and was quick with a laugh.

He was married to Joye Faulkner of Ogden, Utah. They had two sons and were later divorced.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and received ordinances in the Logan Temple at the age of 72.

Darrell is survived by two sons, Mitch (Stacy) Godfrey, West Haven, Utah, Jeff (Julie) Godfrey, Soda Springs, Idaho, 10 grand children, and 3 great-grand children. He is also survived by two brothers Murrie (Rhea) Godfrey of Soda Springs, Idaho and Burke (Alene) Godfrey of Clarkston, Utah and by two sisters, Janice Clark (Marion) of Soda Springs, Idaho and Linda (Dee) Hansen of Centerville, Utah as well as many nieces and nephews.

Darrell was proceeded in death by his father, William Murland, his mother, Cora Priscilla, and one brother, Lyle Montague.

The Family wishes express thanks to the staffs of the Peachtree Place & Hospice For Utah for the care and kindness given. Also to the Peachtree Branch Presidency, Relief Society and wonderful friends at Peachtree that added enjoyment and meaning to his final years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Noon at the Clarkston, Utah LDS Ward House (25 E. 100 S. Clarkston, Utah). Family will meet with friends on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be at the Clarkston Cemetery following services.
