David James
Summers
Jun 29, 1940 — Jul 3, 2026
Clinton, Utah
David James Summers passed away on July 3, 2026. He was born on June 29, 1940, to Marion T. Summers and Edythe Davis. David grew up in Tremonton, Utah, and graduated from Bear River High School.
He attended Utah State University for a year but returned home to help on the family farm when his father’s health declined. David married Charlotte Robbins, and together they had two sons, Todd and Greg. The family later moved to Soda Springs, where David worked for Monsanto Chemical Company. David and Charlotte were later divorced. In 1982, Dave married Kaye Hogan and added Deena Kae (his dolly) to complete his family. They were sealed in the Logan Temple in 1990. Dave was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings. One of his favorite callings was the opportunity to serve in the Logan and Afton Temples. Dave had a passion for singing and entertaining, and he generously shared his talents with the community, especially by singing at funerals.
Dave is survived by his wife Kaye Summers, sons Todd, Greg (Sherri), and daughter Deena Kae Wallberg, 6 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. As a family, we want to thank his friends and the community for the love, support, and kind words you have shared with us.
