Dean Crandall Thompson, 75; of Grace passed away at his home, Thursday, November 12, 2009.
Dean was born June 25, 1934 in Grace, Idaho to Clyde Melvin and Hettie Dunn Thompson.
He was the youngest of ten Children. Dean Lived most of his life in Grace.
Dean married his high school sweetheart, Carla Mae Wilson in the Logan LDS Temple on November 10, 1953. They had just celebrated their 56th wedding Anniversary.
He and Carla Mae lived and worked in Searchlight, Nevada for twelve years. They then retired and returned to Grace, where they have resided for the past twelve years.
Dean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a High Priest in the Grace Second Ward. He served as an officiator in the Logan LDS Temple for eight years, and enjoyed serving as a Home Teacher.
Dean Loved to work with his hands. He was a master craftsman and loved to use his talents to help others. He enjoyed spending many hours in his shop woodworking and restoring tractors.
Dean loved being surrounded by his family and most importantly the love of his life, and best friend Carla Mae.
Dean and Carla Mae are the parents of six children; Don and Dawn Ann Thompson of Reno, NV; Radean and Lynn White of Grace, ID; RaNae and Kelly Bennett of Grace, ID; Dahl and Krista Thompson of Houston, TX; Darin and Rebecca Thompson of Lake In The Hills, IL; and Hettie and Dave Kester of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Glen and Joan Thompson of Pocatello, ID; Jack Thompson of Providence, UT; and two sisters Joyce and Berdean Payne of Salt Lake City, UT; and Lucene Chatterton of Roy, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lou and Dell Thompson and three sisters, Mary Bennett, Melva Petereit and Irma Flint.
Services were held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Grace Cemetery.
