Obituary

Ida DeAnn Andersen (67) of Soda Springs, passed away on January 14, 2022.

She was born to Glenn H. and Ida V. Wood Andersen on November 27th,1954 and was the apple of their eye.

DeAnn cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities, including the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations.  In the last decade, she especially enjoyed doing family history work, spending many hours indexing historical records so they could be entered into genealogy databases.  It was one of the great thrills of her life to attend the recent dedication of the Pocatello temple.

Music was a big part of DeAnn's life.  She loved singing in choirs–especially the community Christmas concert choir.  She was an exceptional pianist and so sensitive in her playing–her musical talent truly blessed everyone who heard.

DeAnn loved being a Soda Springs cardinal!  She graduated with the class of '73 and worked in the school district for many years as a custodian. DeAnn was so touched by the many thoughtful teachers, co-workers, classes, and students who got to know her, left her notes, and celebrated her birthday.  She especially loved working at the elementary school and being surrounded by children.

DeAnn had beautiful handwriting.  She was a thoughtful gift-giver.  She laughed freely and was delighted by so many things.  She kept beautiful flower beds all summer.  She loved arts and crafts, was a talented cake-decorator, and could crochet anything. She was a loyal friend and kept in regular contact with friends near and far.  She loved her two big brothers, Ron and Don, and often bragged about the kind things they did for her or thoughtful gifts they gave her.  She shared her testimony of Jesus Christ so often, and it was easy to see that she had a close relationship with Him.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ida Andersen, by her older brother, Ronald G. Andersen, and a nephew Dennis Clements.  She is survived by her brother Donald Andersen and his wife Kay, and by two nieces and a nephew: Linda K. Gonzalez, R. Glenn Andersen, and Anna E. Ferguson.

DeAnn was a special woman with a heart of gold, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at Noon with a visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Bailey Creek Church in Soda Springs.  Interment will be at the Central Cemetery. Listen to service
