Dell Lowe Maughan, 72 of Grace, Idaho peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family due to complications of lymphoma.

Dell was born December 15, 1938, in Grace, Idaho to Raymond L. and Elnora Lowe Maughan. He was raised in Bancroft, Idaho and graduated from North Gem High School in 1957 where he was active in sports and with a special love of basketball. He attended Idaho State University where he received his degree from the College of Pharmacy in 1964. While attending ISU he met and was sealed to his eternal companion DeAnn Harris in the Logan Temple on June 2, 1961. Upon graduation they moved to Preston, Idaho where he was employed at Mel's Drug. In 1965 the couple and their infant son Scott moved to Grace, Idaho where he was employed at Lowe Drug. In 1967 their son Timothy was born, followed by their daughter Melia in 1971. A valiant and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he was called as the Stake President of the Grace Idaho Stake in 1972, in which capacity he served for 10 and 1/2 years. In 1974 he began working at Caribou Memorial Hospital as the Registered Pharmacist. He was employed there in many capacities for 37 years and was still employed there at the time of his passing. During this time they were blessed with 3 more children, son BoDell in 1974, son Cortney in 1976 and daughter Marnae in 1981.

Dell truly loved the Lord and was devoted in his church service, not only as a Stake President, but also as the Grace Idaho Stake Patriarch for 7 years. He was also dedicated to his job and was not one to leave anything undone. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, DeAnn of Grace and his 6 children, Scott (Julie) Maughan of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Timothy (Camille) Maughan of Spokane, WA; Melia Maughan of Grace, ID; BoDell (Chalae) Maughan of Idaho Falls, ID; Cortney (Jaimi) Maughan of Grace, ID; and Marnae (Ben) Ferrin of Pocatello, ID; and 17 Grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters, Berniel (Janey) Maughan of Salt Lake City, UT; Clair (Lynn) Bailey of Salt Lake City, UT; Larae (George) Millward of Chubbuck, ID; and Eileen (David) Miranda of Blackfoot, ID; and a sister-in-law Sarah Maughan of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donal Maughan.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center and a viewing will be held prior to the funeral on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. also at the Grace Stake Center. Burial will be in the Lago Cemetery, in Lago, Idaho.
