Deloris Knowles Maxwell (85) passed away peacefully March 15, 2012 in Mesa, Az.
She was born Oct 13, 1926 in Bancroft Id, where she attended school and married her sweetheart Roy Allen Maxwell in 1943. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1996. They were the parents of two children. Allen's job with the railroad had them living in many places throughout Idaho and Nevada, most notably McCammon and Downey. Following Allen's death she moved to Pocatello. Four years ago she moved to Mesa to be near her son.
Deloris is best remembered for her caramel corn made by the tubful every Christmas, her delicious meals made at the Senior's Center in McCammon, the beautiful quilts and crocheted afghans and crafts lovingly made for others, and her unselfish service at the LDS Cannery in Pocatello.
Deloris is survived by her only son, Stephen Allen Maxwell,(Pennylynn) Mesa, AZ; her sisters Nola Rose (Bob) Bremerton, WA; Bonnie Rigby (Max) Logan, UT; and her brother Kenneth Knowles (Sharon) Lava Hot Springs, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Allen, and her daughter Shauna Lee Bevins (Scott). She has 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased in death by brothers Ross Knowles, Les Knowles and sister Donna Christensen.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. The burial will be at the Bancroft Cemetery.
