Delphia Jane Christiansen, 88, of Soda Springs passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.
Delphia was born on April 23, 1928 in Telluride, Colorado the daughter of Samuel and Edith McCloskey Richards, Sr.
She was raised in Telluride, Co and graduated from Telluride High School in 1945 and then attended cosmetology school and opened Elite Beauty Nook in 1946.
Delphia married Robert Leroy Christiansen, Sr. on October 1, 1950 in Telluride, CO. They moved to Grand Junction for about six years then moved to Soda Springs, Idaho and have lived in the surrounding area since 1958.
She was a Cub Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed Knitting, crocheting, camping, cooking and metal detecting.
Delphia is survived by her husband Robert Leroy Christiansen, Sr., and three sons and one daughter, Robert Leroy and Diana Christiansen Jr. of Medford, OR, Alan Eugene and Sharon Christiansen of Soda Springs, ID, Carl Ray and Hope Christiansen of Riverton, WY, Wanda Jean Christiansen of Pocatello, ID. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, one brother Samuel Richards, Jr. of North Concord, VT, and a sister Hazel Maestas of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by a son Larry Wayne Christiansen a granddaughter, Samantha Marie Christiansen and a sister Edith Lorraine Richards.
Family will visit with friends on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home.
