Dennis Leon Johnson, 87, of Thatcher, Idaho passed away on Friday April 21, 2023.

Dennis was born on August 16, 1935, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Leo and Florence Johnson.  On March 3, 1936 in Logan, Utah, Florence passed away. At that time, the sister of Florence, Ida Van Den Akker, with her husband, Henry, took Dennis in.

He married Sharon Marie Johnson on May 16, 1958, in Belleview, Washington.  They lived in Washington for 38 years and moved back to Idaho where he lived for the last 31 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dennis enjoyed fishing, camping and especially elk hunting.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Lynn Johnson of Seattle, Washington, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Marie Johnson, and son, Phillip Frances Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Church at 11:00 am.  The family will meet with friends from 9:30-10:30 at the church prior to services.  Interment will be held at the Thatcher Cemetery.
