Deon LaRue Davis Smith, 93; of Soda Springs passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020.

Deon was born on December 8, 1926 in Davis Ville, Idaho the daughter of Alvin J. and Erma Rose Hagland Davis Lallatin.

She attended school at the Davis Ville School.  At the age of 17 she married Vaughn Fredrick Smith on January 7, 1944 in Soda Springs.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.   Vaughn passed away on June 5, 2016.  After they were married, they moved to Soda Springs where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

She held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her favorite was working with the Boy Scouts for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking care of her family and spending time at their cabin in Diamond Creek.  She always made the Holidays very special!  She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family.

She is survived by one daughter and a son, Vicki and Larry Hopkins of Soda Springs, ID, DeVaugh and Carolyn Smith of Soda Springs, ID and a daughter-in-law Tammie Smith also of Soda Springs, ID.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.   She was preceded in death by her husband Vaughn, and a son, Brad Smith, and two brothers, Jerry Davis and Ronald Davis and an infant sister Lila Lee.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs Stake Center.  Burial will be in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
