Diana June Harris, 67; of Soda Springs passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her home.
Diana was born October 24, 1944 in Boise, Idaho the daughter of Fred S. and Dorothy Diehl Christensen.
She grew up in Nampa, Idaho and would spend summers in Trail Canyon. She and her parents moved to Soda Springs in 1962 and they moved into the home that she lived in to this day.
Diana married George Vard Harris on September 12, 1964 in Soda Springs, Idaho.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint and had been a sunday school teacher, relief society teacher, worked in the library and sang in the Ward Choir for many years.
Diana had worked in the grade school in aiding with the speech and language programs. She was 4-H secretary at the Eastern Idaho State Fair and was also the secretary for the horse events at the Caribou County Fair for several years. She always enjoyed taking her daughter Tyra to horse shows and queen contests and she loved going out and watching her granddaughters ride their horses in the arena. She also loved going to her grandchildren's school activities even when she felt ill.
She is survived by her husband George of Soda Springs; and one son, Whitt Harris (Peggy Orchard) of Teton, ID; and two daughters, Holly Harris (Bill Powell) of Soda Springs, ID; Tyra and Mick Hayes of Soda Springs, ID; and 8 grandchildren, Braden, Nicole, Cody, Ashby, Bayli, Jake, Erik and Shawn and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Dorothy Christensen, mother and father-in-law Vard and Leota Harris and a brother-in-law Jack Harris.
Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Bailey Creek LDS Chapel (361 South 3rd East). The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Montpelier Dialysis Center or the Soda Springs High School Girls Athletic Dept.
