Dixie Robbins Weaver began her earthly journey on June 2, 1930 being born to Lora Bennett Robbins and Guy Wilson Robbins in Thatcher, Idaho at the "Robbins Roost Ranch". She was the youngest of five children, one brother and three sisters. She lost her father to pneumonia at the age of two and a half and so she was raised and supported by her wonderful mother and siblings.
Mom attended elementary school at Cove and graduated from Grace High School. She and her mother moved to Grace when she stared high school so they would be closer to the school. Mom tended a little boy, cleaned houses, worked at the Chadwick's Department Store, Grace Grocery, and for many years in the school hot lunch program both in Soda Springs and Grace.
Being active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was a lifestyle for Mom. She served as a primary teacher, young women's teacher, ward and relief society chorister, visiting teacher, Harmonaires ladies choir, ward choir, provided the sacrament bread, and served in the Logan Temple for two consecutive terms.
Mom loved all animals, but cates in particular. She also loved all music and things of beauty. She was an avid reader. Her most favorite pass time was any she could spend with family members, of course especially her children and grandchildren.
On September 20, 2016, Dixie finished her mission here on earth finally succumbing to the ravaging disease of cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Dahl, sisters Audrey, Elaine and Clarice. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Darwin W. Weaver, children Kip Weaver (Petra) of West Alexandria, Ohio, Kerri Ann Turner (Kevin) of Cascade, Idaho, Shana Lee Fawcett (Rick) of Pocatello, Idaho, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, Idaho on September 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers Dixie has requested that charitable donations be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.
Special thanks to Quail Ridge and Encompass Hospice for their compassionate and professional care and love of our Mother.
