Donald "Don" Richard Ayers passed away peacefully in his home in Soda Springs, Idaho.
Don was born on November 9, 1943 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the son of William Dale Ayers and Louise Hosick.
He graduated from Soda Sprigs High School in 1962. Following his graduation he attended Idaho State University where he took classes in mechanical engineering. Don then went on to the University of Idaho in Moscow where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Don went on to work for Monsanto where he worked for 30 + years. Don loved farming and that was his true passion. He worked full time farming until his passing.
He married KayLynn Longenbohn who had a daughter Debbie Hildreth. KayLynn passed away from diabetes.
Don married Lanett Williams on November 19, 1973. Lanett had a daughter Alesha Williams.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Don loved all sports and outdoor activities. He loved hunting, fishing, playing softball and basketball.
He was a very giving man and contributed to many charities and was al longtime member of the Idaho State Bengal Boosters.
Don is survived by his wife Lanett, his two daughters, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and his brother Dale.
Services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center (290 South 3rd West). The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
