Don Ford Hammerland, 72 of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Thursday, February 15,2018 in the arms of his loving wife surrounded by his family.
Ford was born May 29, 1945 in Brigham City, Utah the son of Lance and Patricia Hammerland.
He married Colleen McDermott on November 7, 1974 in Pocatello, Idaho. They had a daughter Misty D in 1978.
Ford married the love of his life Beverly Davis Cannon on December 25, 1984 in Soda Springs, ID.
In his early years Ford bought a farm in Winder, Idaho and enjoyed rodeo where he did bronc and bull riding. Ford started working at Becker in Soda Springs in 1978 and then bought a home there. He always had good stories about guys he worked with at Becker. In 1987 Ford bought a big rig and went out on the road driving truck. In 1994 his Wife joined him on the truck and they worked together for over 20 years as a team, site seeing while making a great living. Even though Ford spent countless hours on the road he constantly found time to attend his kids and grandkids events as they were the joy in his life.
Ford is survived by his wife Beverly Hammerland of Soda Springs, Id., also a son and two daughters. Michael and Tara Cannon of Soda Springs, Id., Tina and Tracy Vorwaller of Soda Springs, Id., and Misty and Jason Blotter of Preston, Id. Ford had 8 grandkids to keep him always busy and smiling.
As Ford wished, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
