Obituary

Don-Michael McCullough went home to be with Jesus January 4, 2011, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was born April 7, 1987 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the son of Marty and Donna McCullough. Don-Michael will be forever missed by the love of his life and fiancé, Jackie, his older sister Krissy, her husband Brody, and his younger sisters Kaylee, Genny and Kat.

Don-Michael enjoyed all sports, hunting, fishing, family and friends. And he will always be remembered for his love of basketball, the passion he played with on and off the court, and his amazing left handed three point shot. Don-Michael worshiped at the Soda Springs Baptist Church and was an active member.

He loved, respected, and was educated by many gifted teachers in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School in 2006. He was loved and supported by many coaches. They instilled values he carried with him throughout his life and aided him in his various athletic achievements. After graduating high school, he went on to further his education and play basketball for Central Christian College in McPherson, KS. He later returned to Idaho and attended Idaho State University in Pocatello. In 2009, he enrolled at Moody Bible College to study biblical theology.

Don-Michael was diagnosed in 2008 with leukemia. He was humbled by the continued support of the Soda Springs community, his church, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Don-Michael would be honored if donations were made to the Soda Springs Food Bank (SEICCA, 159 East 2nd South #4, Soda Springs, ID 83276).

He is survived by his parents, Marty and Donna McCullough. His fiancé Jackie Brown. His four sisters and brother-in-law, Kathryne, Genny Joe, and Kaylee McCullough, Krissy and Brody Gibson. His grandparents Mike and Myrna McCullough, Soda Springs, Idaho. Jim and Margaret Austin, Spring, Texas. His great-grandmother, Leora Gregory (Grandma Shiner), Shiner, Texas. His much loved uncles, aunts and cousins as well as many friends.

Don-Michael was greeted at the gates of heaven by those who preceded him in death. His grandfather and favorite fishing companion, Don Jackson (Papa Texas), Soda Springs, Idaho and many other precious family members.

During his 23 years on earth, Don-Michael left a lasting impression on all those who were blessed to know him. He will live in the hearts and memories of his family, friends, and community, but he will rest in the arms of his Savior forever.

Services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Noon at the Soda Springs High School. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the High School Auditorium and on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Auditorium prior to services.
