Donette Clegg Young, 89, of Soda Springs, formerly of Bench Idaho, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs. She was born February 23, 1919 at Bench, Idaho the daughter of Robert Williams and Lettie Beveridge Redford Clegg.
She married Robert D Young, July 3, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. Robert passed away May 17, 2001.
Donette had lived at Bench, Idaho through her school years attending a one room school. She graduated from Grace High School in 1937; attended USU, and Tempe Arizona College. She had also lived at Pensacola, Florida; Coronado, CA; Hutchinson, Kansas; Logan, UT; Oneida Power Plant north of Preston, Grace, ID; Preston, ID; back to Grace Idaho for 50 years then to Soda Springs.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the YWMIA, Relief Society Secretary and was a visiting teacher.
Donette enjoyed her yard, gardening, making wedding cakes, fishing with Bob and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter and their spouses; Phil and Suzanne Young; Kirk and Raelene Young; Jan and Rodney Fraser, all of Soda Springs; also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, 2 brothers, DeMar and Owen Clegg and a twin sister, Louette Mickelson.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 28, at Noon at the Thatcher-Williams LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Neil Hubbard officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. The Family suggests donations may be made to the Caribou Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
