Obituary

Donna M. Perry, 82, a longtime resident of Soda Springs, passed away Oct. 8, 2023.  Donna has been struggling with her health ever since suffering a stoke three years ago.  She was born on Feb. 16, 1941 in Nisland, South Dakota, the second child of Raymand L. and Martha L. Messinger.  Her family moved to Declo, Idaho where she graduated from Declo High.

Donna married Jay Perry from Albion on Oct. 3, 1959, they just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.  They started their family of three daughters in Declo then they traded in the farm and moved to Soda Springs in 1970 where they purchased Soda Mobile Homes Trailer Park.  Donna managed the office while Jay took care of the maintenance duties. They owned the park for 27 years.

Donna loved her three girls and idolized her nine grandchildren.  Attending a sports game for the grandchildren was a highlight in her life.  She loved playing cards, dabbled in crochet and sewing, camping, fishing, and passed the Soda Spring winters by doing puzzles.

Donna is survived by her husband, V. Jay Perry, her three daughters: Deb (Bob) Lardinais of Pocatello, Roxanne Harris of Pocatello, Darlene (Roven) Gunnell of Grace, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and her brother Gary (Sheryl) Messinger of Boise.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ron (Charlotte) Messinger.
