Doran Sommer, 52; of Grace, Idaho passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home.

Doran was born on January 7, 1959 to Clifford and Janice Birch Sommer in Rexburg, Idaho.

He lived the majority of his life in Montpelier, Idaho. He had also lived in Wyoming and had spent the last two years in Grace, Idaho.

Doran married JoEllen Paterno in Montpelier, Idaho in 1979. They were later divorced.

He later shared his life with Laurie Dodds. They found each other in Big Piney, Wyoming in 2005.

Doran enjoyed most outdoor activities including fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, rock hunting, swimming and most of all spending time with his boys.

He is survived by his companion Laurie of Grace, ID; and five sons, Tate, Ryan both of Montpelier, ID; and Caedyn, Bradey and Payke all of Grace, ID. He is also survived by his father, Clifford Sommer of Montpelier, Id; two brothers Devry and Nick both of Montpelier, ID; and a sister Sari Rigby also of Montpelier, ID. He was preceded in death by his mother Janice, grandparents, his father-in-law Paul James and a good friend Howard Jones.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services.
