Doreen Braithwaite 91, of Grace, ID passed away on January 22, 2022.
Doreen was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 9, 1930 daughter of David William Thomas Braithwaite and Elizabeth Gunn Ellis Braithwaite.
She spent her early year in Detroit. She married William D. Pristupa July 1950 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. They were later divorced. She married Raymond W. Burroughs August 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. They were later divorced.
Doreen lived in Detroit, MI, Norfolk, VA, Philadelphia, PA, again in Detroit MI, Dearborn, MI, Glendale, AZ, Preston, IA, Smyrna, TN and Grace, ID.
She worked for Motorola then worked for Mountain Bell until she retired. She was active knitting and sewing outfits for dolls for charities. She enjoyed assisting her church St. Patrick's in Murfreesboro, TN.
She enjoyed learning to shoot and bird hunt, fish, camping, knitting, sewing, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, word search, sending out greeting cards for birthdays, holidays and anniversaries to family and friends yearly, and visiting with people where ever she went.
She is survived by two daughters Mary Quimby of Smyrna, TN and Elizabeth (Tom) Burgard of Phoenix, AZ and 2 sons David (Brenda) Pristupa of Grace, ID and Stephen Burroughs of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 Step grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother s Sidney and John Braithwaite and sister Betty Willoughby, Daughter Katherine Potter Geerts, granddaughter Kimberly Woods and step grandson Jeffrey Lynn Rigby.
As per her wishes she was cremated. She requested no services but rather a wake of her friends to celebrate her life as the remember her. In her words "Have a Blessed day".
