Obituary

Dorothy Ward Koller, 93, of Lava Hot Springs passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at her daughters home in South Jordan, Utah. Dorothy was born on February 21, 1919 in Preston, Idaho the daughter of Joseph Edward and Mary Emeline Garner Ward. She was raised in Preston, ID and lived in Weston, ID for three years. Dorothy married Russell A. Koller on May 8, 1940 in the Logan, Utah L.D. S. Temple. He passed away on June 19, 1997. They also lived in Oxford, ID for 24 years and Soda Springs for 13 years and Orem, Utah for 16 years and Lava Hot Springs for many years. She worked at the Trail Cafe for several years and was well known for her cinnamon rolls. She also taught piano lessons most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Ward Organist for a total of 51 years and also served in various other positions in the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School and M.I.A. Dorothy played organ music for Senior Citizen Centers in Soda Springs, ID, Orem, UT and Lava Hot Springs, ID. She loved music, gardening and quilting. She is survived by her son Nolan and Sharon Koller of Soda Springs, ID, and three daughters Rita and Jeff Anderson of McCammon, ID, Ila and Kevan Pearce of South Jordan, UT, Betty and Dennis Zupan of Pleasant Grove, UT. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Betty Koller, Weston, ID, a brother-in-law Evan Koller of Logan, UT and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hyrum Ward, Platt Ward, Burnice Ward and 5 sisters, Luella Bowman, Edith Hawke, Vera Nielsen, Marguerite Jepsen, June Pierce, 3 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law Robert Anderson. Services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Noon at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery. Listen to service:
