Doyle Smith, 73; of Grace passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.

Doyle was born December 31, 1937 in Sugar City, Idaho the son of Hilbert and Leitha Roberts Smith.

He married Norma Roberts on October 6, 1956 in Sugar City, Idaho. She passed away August 27, 1991.

He married Virgina Wheeler on February 25, 1994 in Soda Springs, Idaho. She passed away August 6, 2006.

Doyle served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years. He lived in San diego, California for 4 years and then moved to Malad City, Idaho for 5 years. He moved to Soda Springs and was there for 39 years and had spent the last 8 years in Grace, ID.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working with his hands, camping and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his two sons, Bryan and Kathie Smith of Grace, ID; Randy and Cheryl Smith of Soda Springs, ID; and two daughters, Shirley and Rodney Wheeler of Bancroft, ID; Christine Jeppson of Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a brother Lyle Smith of Sugar City, ID; and a sister Darlene Rust of Shelly, ID. He was preceded in death by parents, a brother Delmo Smith, and two sisters Yavone Peterson and Linda Hale, and one grandson.

The family will meet with friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. There will be a graveside service on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Soda Spring American Legion Post 62 and the VFW Post 9141 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
