Dustin Derek Beckstead (also known as Goobs) age 39, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dustin was a devoted and proud father to his three amazing children—a daughter (Hayln), who lives in Florida, and two sons (Ayden and Treyton)—who lived with him, as he raised them with unwavering love, strength, and dedication. Being a father was the center of his world, and he poured his heart into giving his children a life filled with care, guidance, and support.

He spent so much of his time either, working, hunting, fishing, and/or working on vehicles, as his boys always wanted their trucks looking and sounding just right. He taught his boys the importance of a dollar and how to work hard for things they wanted. He also spent a lot of time with his mom and dad (Dean and Sherrie Beckstead), brothers and their wives (Justin & Kelli and Ozzy & Melinda) and his sister (Kristin), along with his nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his resilience, his deep love for his family, and the quiet strength he showed every day. Dustin’s presence brought comfort to those around him, and his legacy lives on through the children he loved so deeply.

He was welcomed with open arms by his best friend (Justin Moore), his brother (Devin Beckstead), his niece (Rikki Beckstead), his cousin (Jared Rasmussen), his grandparents (Alden & Leda Beckstead and Val & Myrle Steele), and many other family and friends that have gone before him.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2026 at 12 noon at the Bailey Creek LDS Church. Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home and again prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
