IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eliza "Liz"
Lei Sibbett
March 4, 1928 – September 18, 2020
Eliza Lei (Liz) Call Sibbett was born in Wayan, Idaho on March 4, 1928 to Frank Call and Mililmili Kapaki Call. She was the youngest of 10 children. Being the baby, she may have been a tiny bit spoiled, or should we say dearly loved? She was also dearly loved by Glade Sibbett who became her husband on 22 June, 1946. They spent many hours playing for dances in Grays Lake and surrounding communities. Music was always a big part of their lives and they instilled that love of music in each of their 7 children.
Mom's intelligence may be due partially to the fact that her nighttime reading included the scriptures and Webster's Dictionary. Because she married young, she did not graduate from High School, but worked hard to obtain her GED in 1977. Liz's desire was always to be a teacher. She didn't realize that she was constantly teaching without a fancy degree.
Liz was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you name a calling in the church, she probably held it. She will be especially remembered for her work with the youth, writing and directing road shows, teaching dances and music, or being a camp director. Many will recall her great missionary efforts as she lived the gospel so fully.
Liz drove the school bus to Soda Springs for many years. Her work as a Special Ed Aide allowed her to touch many lives.
In 1994, Channel 8 News launched a program titled 8 Who Make a Difference. Their idea was to celebrate 8 people who truly made a difference in their communities. Liz was nominated to represent her community. She was the overall winner for Southeast Idaho. This was only one of the many accomplishments of her long life. Everyone who knew her realized that she truly made a difference in their lives.
Liz slipped peacefully from this life, early Friday, September 18, 2020 at her home. She and Glade can now continue making music for the angels in heaven.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband Glade G. Sibbett, her parents and siblings, and two sons-in-law, Bill Tadd and Phillip Geddes.
She is survived by her children: Linda Tadd, Don (Shauna) Sibbett, Jim (Ana) Sibbett, Judy Geddes, Gene (Teri) Sibbett, Lisa (Tim) Olorenshaw, Larry (Robin) Sibbett, and their families with numerous posterity.
