Elsie Louise Rowland, 81; passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Snowflake, Arizona.

Elsie was born on June 15, 1940 in Mesa, Arizona the daughter of George Washinton and Emma McLaws Harrison.

She was raised and educated in Holbrook, Arizona.  She also attended UVCC Community College in Orem, Utah.

She married Harry Dean Johnston.  They were later divorced.

She married Dwelton Dwain Rowland on February 13, 1974 in Holbrook, Arizona.  He passed away on July 5, 2003.

Elsie lived in California, Oklahoma, Utah and Idaho.  She spent most of her later years in Soda Springs, Idaho but spent the last year in Snowflake, Arizona.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved working in family history.

Elsie owned her own truck stop called Elsies Place in Meadow, Utah for several years in the 1980's and early 90's.  She also managed other businesses throughout her life.  Also, she got her CDL to drive truck.

She enjoyed working on genealogy, collecting antiques and driving 18 wheelers.

She is survived by a son J.R. Rowland and Tara Kennedy of Soda Springs, ID and Brisbane, Australia, and her daughters, Cindy (Blaine) Farnsworth of Holbrook, AZ, Tena Clouse of Snowflake, AZ, Tiffanie Allred of Holbrook, AZ Dawnette (Victor) Sylvester of Pleasant Grove, UT.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a brother Don Hunsaker, and a sister Barbara Clayton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwelton Dwain Rowland, two brothers, Leo Hunsaker and Theo Hunsaker, a son Robert Dean Johnston, a daughter Tamara Holsten.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at Noon at the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.  Family will visit with friends on Tuesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to going to the cemetery.
