Enid Maurine Peterson Taylor, 92, died December 30, 2008 in Orem Utah.
She was born June 16, 1916 in St. Charles, Idaho to Alvin Ole Peterson and Bertha Ann Benson Peterson. She was the sixth of ten children. She attended primary school in St. Charles. After graduating from the eighth grade she attended Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho. She graduated in 1934. She moved to Montpelier, Idaho to work. While working in Montpelier she met Jack W. Taylor. They were married November 26, 1937 and were married for 71 years. They had two children, Jacqueline and John. In 1949 they moved to Pocatello, Idaho where they lived for 57 years. They enjoyed many good neighbors and friends during these years. In 2006 Jack and Enid moved to Orem, Utah to be closer to their daughter.

Enid was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her church in many capacities. She was Relief Society President, worked in the primary and young women's organizations, and for the Bishop's Storehouse. She served as a temple worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for several years.

Enid enjoyed tending her yard and her flower garden was unrivaled. Jack always had a large vegetable garden and Enid had a flair for canning and cooking. There was always good food at her table. She was an expert quilter and she especially enjoyed making baby quilts. Many, many babies reaped the benefits of her handiwork.

Enid is survived by her husband, Jack, and her two children, Dr. Jacqueline Taylor Voyles (Herb), and Dr. John E. Taylor (Barbara), six granddaughters, one grandson, and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Ileen Rich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters: May Jones, Edna Cochran, LaRae Monson, Estella Minor, and Lois Ann Wallentine, and three brothers: Benson Peterson, Herald Peterson, and Oren (Friday) Peterson.

The family would like to express special thanks to the tender loving care given to Enid by the nurses and staff of both The Courtyard at Jamestown in Provo, Utah and the Berkshire Center in Orem, Utah.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at Noon at the Montpelier 5th Ward Chapel (340 N. 6th St.) Montpelier, Idaho. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
