Evah Dorthy Christensen Smith, 88, of Soda Springs, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at home.
She was born March 28, 1920 at Central, Idaho the daughter of Christian Miller and Pearl Eliza Jorgensen Christensen.
She was raised and educated at Central graduating from Grace High School. She had attended one and a half years at B Y U.
Evah married Edwin Bradbury Smith, April 16, 1941 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
She was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 4th Ward. Evah had served as Relief Society President and in the Relief Society Presidency; she served a full time mission in the San Jose California Mission; she also served as the Stake Patriarch Assistant and Recorder; served in the Cub Scouts and both Ward and Stake Primary Presidencies.
Evah worked alongside her husband "grandpa" her entire life. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, reading, and mostly spending time with her family.
Evah is survived by her husband Edwin "Ed" Smith, a son Bryant C and Donna Smith, Soda Springs and a daughter Evelyn and Gene Heap, Freedom, Wyoming. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother and a sister; Leo and Leatha Christensen, Scotsdale, AZ and Ruby and Robert Bolton, Soda Springs. She was preceded in death by a son Kent Edwin Smith, a daughter LaNette Leavitt, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 28th at Noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
