Flora Mae Echavarren, 87, of Soda Springs passed away at Edgewood Living Center in Soda Springs, Idaho on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Flora was born on December 27, 1933 in Denver, Colorado, daughter of Walter Metzger and Marietta Mohs. She was an only child.
Flora was raised in Denver, where she obtained her primary education. While traveling with her mother through Idaho, she met Carl Dean Toupin. They later married on June 1, 1952 in Los Angeles where Flora was living at the time. They later moved to a farm in Idaho where they began their family.
While raising her three children, Mike, Roy and Carl, in Twin Falls, her and Carl parted ways. During that time, she continued her education obtaining a certification as a Public Accountant.
She later met and married Frank Echavarren on April 4, 1969. They spent some time in Idaho before moving to Northern California where they spent the majority of their life together.
Flora had a fulfilling career as a Bookkeeper and Office Manager at various construction companies where she was highly respected and exceptional in her work. Throughout her career she assisted her sons in managing M. R. & E. Inc. a family-owned business.
Flora enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and traveling with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Flora is survived by her sons, Mike and Esperanza Toupin of Santa Rosa, CA, Carl Jr. and Darla Toupin of Soda Springs, ID and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Toupin Sr., Frank Echavarren and her son, Roy Dean Toupin.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Sims Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Edgewood Living Center in Soda Springs.
