Francisco "Frank" - "Griz" Bruce Hernandez, 74, of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
Frank was born on May 29, 1943 in Arco, Idaho the son of John G. and Veda Bruce Hernandez.
He was raised on a farm in Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Backfoot High School in 1961. He took many welding and Mechanic certification courses at Idaho State University.
Frank Married Linda Lee Furniss in January 1964 and they moved to Soda Springs in 1965.
He donated time and wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, stuffed animals and jello to Salt Lake City Children's Shriners Hospital. Many people didn't realize that Frank was a generous person. Often times he would anonymously pay for utilities, gas, meals for those in need.
Frank was a Master Mason Lodge # 64, Golden Rod Eastern Star Lodge #84, Scottish Rite, El Kora Shrine.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, muzzle loader rendezvous, camping, 4-wheeler riding, Harley motorcycle rides, shooting, building knives and tomahawks and working on old trucks.
Frank is survived by two daughters, Angela K. and Bill Barnes of Navarre, FL, Annette J. and Bart Hokanson of Spring Creek, NV, and grandchildren Tanna (Joe) Bliss of Spring Creek, NV, Chase (Emily) Barnes of Mountain Home, ID, Trevor Barnes of Merrill Island, FL, Brianna Hokanson, of Reno, NV, Alicia Hokanson of Spring Creek, NV, and Great-Grandchildren, Dayton Durand, Taya Durant, Serenity Bliss of Spring Creek, NV, his mother Veda Bruce Hernandez of Backfoot, ID, and a sister Juanita Warden of Blackfoot, ID. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda "Furniss" Hernandez and his father John G. Hernandez.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 2 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Salt Lake City Shriners Children Hospital.
